Privacy policy

The short version

Your PDF is never uploaded. It is opened, rendered, measured, enhanced and rewritten inside your own browser tab, and the enhanced file is handed straight back to you.

There is no server-side component that receives documents. That is not a promise about what we choose to do with your files — it is a description of how the application is built.

How to verify it yourself

You do not have to take our word for it.

  1. Open your browser's developer tools and select the Network tab.
  2. Process a PDF with the tool.
  3. You will see requests for the application's own JavaScript and for the pdf.js rendering assets (and, for the OCR tool, its recognition engine and language data), all served from this domain. You will not see a request carrying your document.
  4. If you have allowed analytics, small requests to Google appear as well. They carry event names and counts, never your document (see Analytics below).
  5. As a second check, the site tells your browser to refuse connections to any other address. Its Content-Security-Policy response header lists the only places the page may contact: this domain, and Google's analytics addresses, which are used only if you allow analytics.

What is stored

  • On our servers: nothing. There is no upload endpoint, no database of documents and no file storage.
  • In your browser: the file and its intermediate images exist in memory while you are working, and are released when you process another file or close the tab. Your browser's ordinary cache also keeps copies of this site's own files (its code and the OCR language data) so that later visits load faster. It never holds your document.
  • Server logs: the hosting provider serving this site (Cloudflare) records ordinary web-request data — IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent — as any web server does. These logs cover requests for pages and assets. They cannot contain your document, because your document is never requested from or sent to the server.

Cookies and local storage

The tool itself sets no cookies. Preferences you set in Advanced settings live only in the current page and are not persisted.

The one exception is analytics, and only if you allow it: Google Analytics then sets its own cookies. Your answer to that question is remembered in your browser's local storage — a single value recording "allowed" or "declined" — so you are not asked again. That value never leaves your device.

Analytics

This deployment uses Google Analytics (ga4). It is not loaded until you allow it: decline, and no Google script is fetched, no cookie is set and no request reaches Google at all. You are asked once, and can change your answer at any time using the control below.

What it records: page views, and a small set of product events — that an upload started, that processing completed or failed and why, which mode was selected, and that a download happened.

These events carry numbers and option names only: the file size in KB, the page count, how long processing took, the mode or OCR language you chose, and an error code if something failed. They never include a filename, a page image, document text, or anything derived from the content of your PDF. The analytics code has no access to it: your document never leaves the part of the browser that processes it.

If you allow it, Google Analytics sets cookies on your device and Google receives your IP address with each request (it uses it to work out an approximate location), along with technical details about your browser. The advertising and ad-personalisation consent signals are set to denied. Google acts as a data processor and its own privacy policy applies to what it does with that data.

Third parties

The site loads its code and pdf.js runtime assets from its own domain, and uses the fonts already installed on your device. The OCR tool also loads its recognition engine and language models from this site, so text recognition happens in your browser and nothing about your document is sent to another server. No third-party advertising, tracking, fingerprinting or social widgets are embedded.

Aside from the optional analytics provider described above, no third party receives any information about your visit from this application.

Retention and deletion

Because no document ever reaches a server, there is no retention period and nothing to delete. Closing the tab discards everything held in memory.

The enhanced file you download is saved by your browser to your device, and its lifetime is entirely up to you.

AI training

Your documents are not used to train any model, by us or by anyone else. They never leave your device, so no such use is technically possible.

Children

This is a general-purpose document utility that collects no personal data and requires no account. It is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If the architecture ever changes in a way that affects any of the above — for example if a server-side processing option were added — this page will be updated before that change ships, and the claim that files stay on your device will be removed or qualified accordingly.

Your analytics choice

Analytics only runs here if you allowed it. You can change that at any time — the change takes effect immediately.
